The Brazilian Government authorized the liberation of R$ 384 millions for investiments in roads and transports in Cuiabá, capital of the State of Mato Grosso, and Várzea Grande, in the nearby, that hosts International Airport Marechal Rondon. The work is part of the preparations of the city for the World Cup of 2014.
According to the president of the Agency of the Cup in the state (Agecopa), Yênes Magalhães, the intervention in the highways permits the beginning of the works of urban mobility in Cuiabá, that include the construction of two runners quickly of bus (BRTs).
The metropolitan area of Cuiabá will have investments of R$ 488 millions in works of urban mobility, aiming to the Cup of 2014.
Beyond the BRTs, other 23 interventions are programmed. They include viaducts, improvement of the roads, trenches, widening of trails, adaptation of capacity and security.
