Brazil Has ‘an Illinois and an Iowa’ Under the Line of Poverty

Around 16.2 millions of Brazilians are extremely poor, according to a study published today by the national authorities.  It is like the total population of the States of Illinois and Iowa living below the line of poverty, what, second the Brazilian standards, signifies a monthly income of to US$ 43.75, Agencia Brazil reports.

  That parameter will be used for the elaboration of the social politics, as the Plan Brazil without Misery, that should be thrown soon by the Department of the Social Development and Battle to the Hunger.  Of the 16.2 millions in extreme poverty, 4.8 millions does not have any income.
